Simple Relaxation — A Guided Meditation
June 18, 2010 in Video
This guided meditation is from www.quietmindcafe.com and is one part of a three-part relaxation and stress management system. This guided meditation uses visualization techniques and a subtle rhythm to guide your mind to the relaxing Alpha state. You will experience a deep relaxation of the body and mind. The focus of this meditation is to quiet the Somatic Nervous System (Voluntary Nervous System). Created by QuietMindCafe.com For a complete relaxation practice use Simple Relaxation to relax the muscles of the body and the somatic nervous system. Use Quiet Mind to restore the experience of calm and balance to the mind and central nervous system. Finally, use Sympathetic Breathing to restore profound relaxation to the heart and autonomic nervous system — your fight or flight response. Together these three practices form a profound relaxation system that is essential for any stress management or stress relief practice.

@TheJasmineroxy Perhaps the Quiet Mind meditation will work better for you. Calming and quieting the mind is an essential part of relaxation and meditation. At times the mind is desperate for activity and easily gets bored.

This video helped me out a lot. I haven’t done guided meditation in ages, and in truth I’ve been making excuses not to do it. I found this video by accident and it helped me deal with everything that has been going on. Thank you.

I think I got it right now! I removed the postings that were the same as the one I left. This is my first time making a comment! I felt I needed to say something about how excellent this is!

I have to say that i had panic attacks when I was younger. They taught me guided relaxation and I was finally able to make them go away completely. 3 and 1/2 years ago,I was in a wreck and they came back. I have really struggled with them and had a hard time controlling them. I could not find the guided relaxation that used before to help me. When I found this, it was like the answer of a prayer. Thank you SOOO much. I now have some peace of mind back!!

@QuietMindCafe Thank you so much. You’re so right. As much as it hurts to let go I really need to.

@RakkausXinXFinland I am sorry for the loss. Sometimes the pain is too much and we keep it out of sight and out of mind. I hope you were able to integrate the experience into your self and find some gifts related to the experience.

@jabroify Sorry about the injury. Tension can “splint” an injured part of the body. Try again in a few days after some healing time.

I stubbed my arm right after I posted my past comment. Then you said” find a place of tension in your body, observe the attention, simply say the word soft. The word “soft” brings images to mind. Soft also has a unique sensation of it’s own..” my eyes widenedall through this as the pain got worse. Ironic how such a amazingly calm vid could bring so much physical pain. (this is true in a jokingly way. no worries.)

That was almost too much. Every time you said let go I saw my late husband telling me to let him go and I imagined myself breathing out blue air that was the pain of missing him. I cried the whole time and I still am.
